UGROUND obtains R&D Certification for the 7th time, reaffirming its strong commitment to society.
UGROUND is a leading R&D company driving social and business transformation toward the digital world. It provides companies and institutions with technologies and methodologies that enable them to compete successfully in the global digital economy. The company allocates 30% of its profits to research and development activities.
For the seventh time, the company has obtained R&D certification for its activity in the field of systems engineering. The certification was granted by ACERTA, one of the certifying bodies accredited by ENAC and by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, to issue R&D Project Certificates.
Approximately only 3% of R&D certifications are awarded to software companies like UGROUND. Furthermore, R&D accreditation goes a step beyond innovation certifications, making it even more valuable. To qualify as such, the following criteria set by regulations must be met:
· Demonstrate that substantial and objective innovations exist as a result of the research.
· Prove that these innovations give rise to a new paradigm.
As the foundation of its activity—and in contrast to conventional code-based development—UGROUND has patented a new paradigm based on models: Semantic Engineering. The methodology is simple yet disruptive. It creates knowledge platforms capable of representing and understanding business logic, managing and operating according to an organization’s strategic and functional objectives—all without writing a single line of code. Not only has UGROUND developed a disruptive idea, but it has also successfully applied it across diverse business cases, demonstrating that this technology can transform and modernize any type of company.
The certification granted to UGROUND this year supports yet another step forward in the company’s R&D trajectory. This time, UGROUND has been recognized for incorporating Self-Referential Systems (SAR) into its technology. Thanks to SAR, the company has achieved the ability for a system to change its behavior without modifying its structure—that is, a system capable of adopting new characteristics and functionalities in real time. This allows for large-scale solutions that were previously beyond the reach of traditional systems engineering. It is yet another demonstration of UGROUND’s firm commitment to setting new precedents in research and technological development.
Across Europe, efforts are being made to raise awareness among companies about the importance of investing in R&D. The advances resulting from such activities open the doors to a globally sustainable future, foster talent, and create opportunities for employment and investment. Companies like UGROUND are committed to integrating new technologies and social impact into their business model, enabling other organizations to become more competitive in the face of new paradigms.
Ten years ago, Europe set the goal of reaching 3% of GDP investment in R&D by 2020. The reality is that we remain far from that target, lagging behind the United States, Japan, and South Korea. Raising awareness is essential if we want to grow and face the future with strength and confidence. Companies like UGROUND serve as benchmarks, demonstrating a path of commitment and passion for innovation.
