Madrid, November 7, 2019. UGROUND, the leading company in social and business transformation toward the digital world, and FACAMP, a faculty of professors committed to excellence, have signed a scientific and academic collaboration agreement to create a Chair of Semantic Engineering and Digital Transformation.
This agreement establishes a joint framework of action to channel a program of activities focused on generating digital transformation services, representing a paradigm shift toward the digitalization of business and society.
UGROUND’s methodology, patented in the United States, is based on Semantic Engineering, which provides a unique competitive advantage in the market: development without code, as opposed to the traditional approach based on algorithmic programming. Through Semantic Engineering, the transversal knowledge of the entire organization is managed, creating a unique innovation platform that is highly reusable, flexible, and faster than traditional systems.
UGROUND will provide its platform for training FACAMP students in Semantic Engineering, as well as for developing software applications arising from the R&D lab of the chair or the entrepreneurship center. This initiative will foster creativity and encourage an open debate for idea generation among qualified FACAMP students.
UGROUND and FACAMP will collaborate on preparing research and development proposals aimed at participating in international projects such as IBEROEKA, Europe 2020, PROFIT, or similar programs, as well as Brazilian national projects, with the goal of effectively carrying out joint work across various specialties.
Ultimately, this is an important strategic alliance born from the commitment to enrich Brazil’s productive system, promote entrepreneurship, and enhance competitiveness through education and the application of cutting-edge technologies in digital transformation.
Alfonso Díez, Global CEO of UGROUND, states that “this alliance reflects UGROUND’s scientific and academic vocation, having found in FACAMP a strategic partner with whom we share social, business, and technological values and priorities. We aim to build an innovative long-term project and become a global reference in academic and business collaboration.”
Francisco Bautista, COO and Director of UGROUND Brazil, adds that “this alliance embodies the synergy between UGROUND and FACAMP in the practical vision of digital transformation. It will allow students to learn about a disruptive technology already validated in the business world through digital twin projects developed by UGROUND worldwide. It will also provide students with employability through the learning of methodologies with a clear international projection.”
“The FACAMP offers solid training aligned with market demand and innovation trends. The platform developed by UGROUND is disruptive and based on advanced Semantic Engineering concepts, which will allow our students to expand their vision in Business Intelligence,” says FACAMP Engineering Coordinator and Professor Adriana Braga.
Finally, Financial Director Fernando Rocha Azevedo adds, “We are excited about this alliance, as FACAMP is part of an environment with the highest level of technological development in Brazil and recognizes that this platform can further strengthen that ecosystem.”
