We rely on a key property of social structures, such as businesses or governments, which is that everything is defined through language. Language is the tool we humans have to navigate society.
So, we can capture human language and turn it into formal knowledge, and we could tackle a very ambitious challenge: using knowledge interpreters to automatically generate (in real time) the applications we want.
That is, instead of programming a system to do X, what we do is tell a system: “I’m going to tell you what X is, and I want you to do that.” If we avoid programming and can work declaratively, transferring knowledge to platforms, the world of computing will change radically.
